The NOTTINGHAM CITY JUNIOR TOURNAMENT is on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th SEPTEMBER 2008 at Rushcliffe Leisure Centre for club U11, U12, U13, U14 & U15 teams.

We will be entering teams in all those age groups BUT require information on availability from the affiliated players. Please let us ie coaches/ team managers or the junior secretary know if you are available to play in this tournament.

 

JUNIOR & SENIOR TRAINING SESSIONS finish on MONDAY 7th July & RESTART on MONDAY 1st September 2008 at the usual times.

Attendance at the first monday in September training session is very important since we organise the junior teams & confirm details with the players for this tournament at that session.

 

We have accumulated several items of property since the start of the season, mainly left at training sessions (and generally at the junior sessions) on a Monday evening.

Please ask the coaches if you have MISLAID any items of clothing. We are storing all items at the moment BUT will be passing them all to the charity shops/ putting them into the clothing recycling centre at the end of the season if unclaimed.

SATURDAY 21 JUNE 2008 one Cliftonettes U12 team was entered in this event at National School, Annesley Road, Hucknall Nottingham.

Unfortunately the event was cancelled during the week since only Cliftonettes N.C. had entered therefore there would only have been one match against Hucknall Town.

It was decided by officials from both clubs that this would not have been a viable option especially as both clubs had already competed against each other in the junior league.

One of our club umpires, Julie Humphrey decided to raise funds for Breast Cancer research (a charity close to her heart) by taking part in the Moon Walk on the 14th/ 15th June 2008 in Scotland.

A 26.2 mile walk taking between 7 & 8 hours to complete starting at 11.45pm.

Julie had never walked this distance before, so planned a training regime to enable her to complete this. She was very much looking forward to the challenge.

The club agreed to sponsor Julie for this event. 

Julie's text received on Sunday " Well chaps I actually did it, 26.2 miles in 7hrs 45mins with no stopping! It's the worst thing I have ever attempted but glad I managed it".

Well done to Julie & we hope that she raises loads of funds for her chosen charities.

Three U11 teams (16 players) attended the High 5 tournament in Stapleford on Saturday 14th June 2008

Venue: Albany Junior School, Pasture Road, Stapleford Nottingham NG9 8HR

Arrival: 9.00am Start: 9.30am Finish: 12.30pm approx.

Match fees: £4 per player

Arrangements: meet at the venue by 9.00am/ collected from the venue by 12.30pm
